Greg Wells Vocal Tracking Video

Last week, Greg was in town to record all of the lead vocals for his EP. It was a really great experience, and he is super talented. It made the tedious process of vocal tracking a lot of fun.

Since I was on vacation this weekend, and it was a holiday, I’ll leave you with this video today. We filmed this for Greg’s kickstarter backers, but you can see some studio footage in there as well. Enjoy!

Video from the Studio: Guitar Tracking for Greg Wells - All of You

Last week I spent a couple days at The Art House Studio doing guitar overdubs for Greg’s EP. I originally took this video for Greg who couldn’t be there that day, but thought it might be fun to share here as well.

Hope you enjoy a look into this project’s making, as well as a sneak peek at 2 of the songs.

Also, I am fully aware of my awkwardness on camera at the beginning, and apologize to you for it.

Great night tonight at Art House Studio tracking guitars for Greg Wells’ EP.

I’m thankful tonight for James Sweeting’s friendship and musicianship. His engineering and musical ideas contribute so much to everything I work with him on.

I’m also thankful that Laura got to come to the studio tonight. It was awesome to have her there to experience what I do.

This record is sounding amazing, and I am beyond excited to share it with everyone!

It is difficult to put my experience from Friday into words. I find that all I can do is repeat the same phrases over and over again. “I’m so proud of these songs” and “I can’t wait to share this with you” keep coming to mind.

Friday really was a spectacular day, and it was so cool to see these songs we wrote really start coming together under the incredible talent of Ben Phillips, Brian Yak, and Travis Cullman.

Programming and overdubs begin tomorrow.

Again, I can’t wait to share this record with you.

I haven’t blogged as much as I would like in January. The new year has brought with it a ton of great things to keep me busy and keep me away from the blog. However, the hiatus has all been leading up to tomorrow. I’m headed into the studio with Greg Wells to start tracking on his EP. Be prepared to be bombarded with updates tomorrow.

I am so thrilled that Greg’s kickstarter goal has been met. That means we’ll begin tracking on his project hopefully by the end of the month. We are so thankful to everyone who gave to the project in order to make it happen.

That being said, there are still a couple days left to give! The kickstarter will close on Wednesday at 8PM Eastern. Any money earned after that will be used to make the record even better, so if you haven’t donated, please consider it.

I am so proud of the songs that we have written for this album, and really want to share them with you. You can donate just $10 and get a digital copy of the album before it releases elsewhere.

Thanks again to everyone who donated.

Greg’s Kickstarter

For the past few days, Greg Wells has been in town from Atlanta to write for his upcoming EP (that I’ll be producing). He was completely new to the co-writing process, and it was a blast to watch him really get into it.

We wrote with 3 of my really talented friends (as well as just the two of us), and when he left this morning, we had 3.5 songs that we hadn’t had 2 days before. I am super excited about these songs and this EP, and can’t wait to get them tracked. Be on the lookout for the Kickstarter Campaign coming soon. You will be hearing a lot about it from me.

Thank you once again to Boski, Matt, and Brett. You guys are incredibly talented songwriters, and it was so much fun to get to work with you.
