Super interesting to hear MKBHD’s Impressions of Apple Vision Pro since he appears to be on of the few people who actually got to use it. I definitely continue to be intrigued by the possibilities.
I’ve tried all the popular notes apps with linking, and keep coming back to Apple Notes. With this addition in iOS 17, I may be done with other apps forever. I just hope you can see a list of back links inside a note.
For some reason, I was not able to convince my wife on why we should spend $3500 on Apple Vision Pro. Maybe it’s because she’s a smarter person than I am. π
Apple is doing an incredible job of showing what it will look like to use Vision Pro in your environment from just a video on a screen. I had no concept of why I would want to use this before it was announced. But it just looks so cool on screen, I’m intrigued.
Home from a week at the beach. Vacation isnβt super restful when these 3 are involved, but we had a ton of fun. Dance parties, dolphin tours, and bike rides. So glad we could make the memories together.
πΊ I loved the Ted Lasso finale. But I also enjoyed this whole season, which so many have complained about. So take my thoughts with a grain of salt.
My mid-thirties in a nutshell:
I was called athletic for the first time in my life at the gym this morning. 10 minutes later, I tweaked my knee and had to go easy for the rest of the class. π
π A Twitter bug is restoring deleted tweets and retweets β including my own - The Verge
Can confirm that my Twitter account, which should be completely barren, has lots of tweets from 2017 and earlier. π€¦π»ββοΈ
My Kindle Paperwhite is 9 years old, and still works fine (with the exception of battery life). I’m eyeing the bigger Oasis, but its lack of USB-C is a big turn off. I can definitely wait until it’s updated (all the other kindles have been), but this is America! I want it now!
First post from MarsEdit! Thanks @manton, @jean, and @danielpunkass for the Micro Camp prize license! Really excited to dive into this app.
π ποΈ Thursday Drops: TWSBI ECO-T Mint, Nakabayashi Paper, Lamy Restock and More! β The Gentleman Stationer
I have enough ECOs in my life that I won’t be buying this, but as someone who prefers the ECO-T to the standard, I’m happy to see so many new color options come out recently.
Getting rid of Facebook and Instagram years ago was so good for my mental health, but I also feel increasingly disconnected. My family moved to a new city in Sept 2020, and it feels difficult to build community when so much of that community happens in spaces I don’t inhabit.
πΏ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Fun movie, and satisfying end to the trilogy. As someone who has loved Karen Gillan since Doctor Who, it was fun to see her have an increased role.
I was already ordering some inks from Dromgooleβs, and threw this one in on a whim after hearing @brad talk about it on an episode of The Pen Addict. Again, my photography skills donβt show it off, but I may have a new favorite ink, especially paired with the rose gold pen.
πΏ The Super Mario Bros. Movie
First time we’ve gone to the theater with all 3 kids. The whole family loved the movie, and I got to enjoy it with my youngest (3.5) curled up in my lap the whole time. A great Sunday afternoon.
I know this isn’t an original thought, but my number 1 feature request for iOS 17 is to be able to use any emoji in iMessage Tapbacks. I’m used to doing that in Slack, and miss it constantly when texting friends.
Finished reading: Star Wars: Brotherhood by Mike Chen π
After several heavy books in a row, I needed a palate cleanser. This was a delight. Just fun Clone Wars eta Star Wars.
When a Buc-eeβs opens just a few miles from your house, your family can make a Friday night out of visiting for the first time.
ποΈYesterday, I received one of my grail pens. I had a major work milestone in January, and planned for months to celebrate by ordering this pen. Everything about the experience was perfect. From phone calls with the owner on nib tuning to its appearance and how it sits in my hand. I’m in love.
πΊ Netflix: Power Rangers Once and Always
This 30th anniversary special was everything it should have been: terrible acting and dialog, a very loose plot, but tons of nostalgia for this millennial heart.
